Family Owned Co-Working Space to Open in Downtown Newark's Renovated Textile Lofts Building

Newark, New Jersey – April 3, 2019 – Once considered a business trend, co-working has rapidly become the new normal for today's enterprising workforce. Co-working spaces are opening around the country, and it is predicted that there will be more than 5,000 new ventures this year alone. One of those anticipated 5,000 new spaces opens this month in downtown Newark, New Jersey.

3rd Space will open in late April at 142 Lafayette Street on the ground floor of the renovated Textile Lofts building. Some original features, such as exposed brick and steel beams, have been restored to maintain the building's stunning industrial character, while some modern warmth and conveniences have been added - such as an artistically installed plant wall and a relaxing sitting oasis to foster any need to decompress during the workday. Natural light pours into the 12,000 square foot space, making it easy to think, create and thrive.

While 3rd Space has the architectural features that make it an appealing new entry into co-working, what makes it even more distinctive is that it is independently, family owned and operated—the only one in Newark and one of only a few family operated spaces in the country. Because of this dynamic, the 3rd Space team has a particular interest in developing partnerships with Newark businesses and fostering relationships with the Newark community. Where there is family, there is heart and a unique focus on collective development and progress – and that is what you will find at 3rd Space.  The company has already developed partnerships with local artists and businesses to foster collaboration and community support.  As such, 3rd Space will provide complimentary coffee from a local roaster.

3rd Space is centrally located just a few short blocks from Newark Penn Station and the Ferry Street business district. 20 private offices are available, along with conference rooms, dedicated and open desks, and an event space. There is also free onsite parking and, during the warmer months, tenants can enjoy a spacious rooftop terrace, which will also be available for events.

Commercial real estate businessman Joseph Donnolo is the founder of 3rd Space. Jennifer Donnolo (daughter) is the president, while son and son-in-law Paul Donnolo and Ian Palmer are managing members. Kenneth Miles is the community manager of 3rd Space and will be a frequent on-site presence.

3rd Space offers flexible memberships that suit a variety of needs. Find out more by visiting
