Twas the Night before Christmas by Dave Marcolla, MBA - Addison Wolfe Real Estate

"Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house,
Not a creature was content, not even a mouse.
The stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
In hopes that this would be the last year they'd be there.

The children were nestled all snug in their beds,
While visions of their own rooms danced in their heads.
And mamma in her 'kerchief, and I in my cap,
Had just logged onto our favorite real estate app.

When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from the bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and saw a car knock over the trash.

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow,
Gave the lustre of mid-day to objects below.
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
But a clear view of someone driving while drinking a beer.

With a little old driver, so wasted and sick,
I knew in a moment it must be that jerk next-door, fat Rick.
More rapid than eagles his curses they came,
And he whistled, and shouted, and called his wife a mean name!

And then, in a twinkling, I heard my wife say,
It's time we move, move far away.
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,

My wife loudly exclaimed, a new home I have found!

It was beautiful and bright, from bottom to top,
And with no neighbors nearby, I thought my heart might stop.
This is the home we knew we must get,
And then I remembered a nice Realtor I'd just met.

His eyes-how they twinkled! his dimples how merry!
His cheeks were like roses, his nose like a cherry!
His droll little mouth was drawn up like a bow,
And the shape of his chin was as perfect as the snow. ;-)

I moved quickly to locate his embossed business card,
And then sent him a text message, thinking that wasn't so hard.
Within moments he replied albeit the middle of the night,
He said showing us the house would be a true Christmas delight.

He was handsome and smart, a right jolly old elf,
And I smiled when I saw him, in spite of myself!
A wink of his eye and a twist of his head,
Soon gave me to know we had nothing to dread.

He wasted not a word, but went straight to his work,
And showed us the home, then turned with a jerk.
And laying his paperwork upon our table,
Resist purchase, we were not able!

He sprang to his car, to his team gave a call,
And now we could enjoy a restful sleep, one and all.

But I heard him exclaim, 'ere he drove out of sight,
"Happy New Home to all, and to all a good-night!"

Merry Christmas!
